I just spent 30 minutes mowing a 6x7 foot space. It is approximately 2/5 of my front yard. I used a manual mower. I sweated a lot. It made no difference at all to the overall aesthetic of my outdoor space.
Now I have to talk to my neighbor to see if I can borrow his mower. Is there such a word as "mown"?

that's hot... and yes, mown is a word. don't pay attention to the spell checker.
Poets use "mown" all the time when they talk about nature and things. Fiction writers stick to "moan."
Oh, that's why I was confused.
oh my god, am i ever jealous of your lawn! have you ever read that lydia davis story a mown lawn?
you can listen to her reading it here, http://writing.upenn.edu/pennsound/x/Davis.html
That pictured lawn is not my lawn. My lawn is made of crab grass and other sundry weeds and decaying leaves. I have read that Lydia Davis story. I almost called this post "a mown lawn," but then didn't, and also didn't realize that was where that came from.
but...you HAVE a lawn! don't you see???
I know. I'm so spoiled already. I am going to lure you with my lawn.
