Today I made my students write speeches about this weird cat that is probably made out of real cat. This kept them busy so they didn't ask questions about my personal life. I don't know what we're going to do for the rest of the semester.

They can still write about that weird fake ken doll. The barbie looks realer for some reason.
you are awesome. your students' speeches will be awesome. your speech class will be way better than mine ever was. good for you. let's make a writing assignment for ourselves about the cat--maybe that should be for next week. i also want to have a week of complete self-absorbtion on our blog where we write about ourselves in a completely self-absorbed manner. (ie: like how i write on here.)
If they ask about my personal life, I always just make a really pathetic face and they know never to ask again and to bring me vegetarian tamales. Sometimes the face is an act, but usually not.

did your students ask you whether you have babies yet? that is usually a first-day question.
